Vietnam

10 resorts in Vietnam, 2 of them written in full. The register holds 7 in Asian Private Resort, 2 in Original Six Senses, 1 in Island & Coastal Hideaway.

10 records, one written, and the country where the boundary is most often made by the absence of a road.

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay stands on a peninsula with no land access at all: mountains and rainforest behind, and a twenty-minute boat as the only way in for guests, staff and everything the property consumes. No gate is required where there is no road, and the boat schedule is the most complete boundary on its shelf.

Con Dao gives the opposite reading and is written to show it. Twelve hectares inside a national park on Con Son, an island carrying a town, an airport and the prison complex that most visitors come to see. The strip between mountain and sea is borrowed from a designation rather than bought.

Eight records unread. The pattern to watch is whether a Vietnamese holding is enclosed by terrain or by permission, because the two look identical from a photograph.
