Australia

13 resorts in Australia, 3 of them written in full. The register holds 7 in Country, Mountain, Lake & Desert Retreat, 6 in Island & Coastal Hideaway.

13 records, one written. The country of large distances and, so far, of boundaries made by designation rather than by purchase.

Southern Ocean Lodge holds a clifftop on Kangaroo Island closed on three sides by national park it does not own and on the fourth by the Southern Ocean. The enclosure is complete and almost none of it is the lodge's. The estate burned to the ground in the bushfires of January 2020 and was rebuilt on the same footprint by the original architect, under thirty-four fire conditions written by the Country Fire Service — a regulatory layer the ground did not carry before.

qualia holds the northern tip of Hamilton Island, which carries a town, an airport, other hotels and residents. It is filed Core and the tier will be tested against published area when the card is written; if the holding turns out to be frontage rather than ground it goes to the House as PROPOSED, as Amangalla and Beaulieu did.

Twelve records unread, most of them inland. The Australian interior in this collection is likely to be a question of leasehold over pastoral country, which no entry here has yet had to answer.
